China Suspected Drag Indonesia in the South China Sea conflict


JAKARTA - Indonesia China allegedly tried to drag in the South China Sea conflict after Beijing blamed the incident in Jakarta in Natuna. Allegations were presented former UN ambassador who is also a senior adviser to Indonesia's minister of maritime affairs, Hasjim Djalal. Hasjim admitted concern with the incident in Natuna, where the Indonesian warship fired on a Chinese fishing vessel suspected of illegal fishing in the waters of Indonesia. The Chinese government through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs even blame Indonesia. Indonesia accused of violating international law and abuse of military power. Hasjim mention recent incidents in Natuna shows China's efforts to "cornering" Indonesia. "China is in dispute with the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Brunei it seems that China might try to drag Indonesia into this dispute," he said on Monday. In the heat of the situation, the United States (US) sent two nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to patrol in the South China Sea.

Two US aircraft carriers are the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Chinese warships has appeared to overshadow the two US aircraft carriers. There are no dangerous incidents with ships from both countries. Combining two US aircraft carrier in the South China Sea allows Washington do the double flight operations in international waters. The commander of the USS Ronald Reagan carrier, the Admiral D. Alexander, said the presence of a second US aircraft carrier demonstrated the ability to operate in the same area and at the same time. "We should take advantage of this opportunity to practice warfighting techniques necessary to win in modern naval operations," Alexander said as quoted news.com.au, Tuesday (06/21/2016).
