SYDNEY - Media China's state-run Global Times, has spit strong threat against Australia in an editorial related to the South China Sea conflict. Chinese media have even named Australia as the ideal or soft targets for Beijing because it is considered an ally of the United States (US) that powers are not real.

As is known, won a lawsuit Philippines PCA ruling on the dispute about China's "Nine-Dash Line" area of the sea. "Australia is not even a 'paper tiger', it's just 'cat' paper," the Global Times editorial. The term "paper tiger" refers to something that seems scary but no real power. In addition to call Australia an ideal target, the media also called on China to "revenge" for the courage Australia urged China to abide by the decision of PCA.
Dr Michael Clarke, Professor at the National Security College, told news.com.au, Monday (01/08/2016), that the reason for the media to call Australia an ideal target for Beijing, because China has aggressive feelings towards Australia at the moment.

In other words, he added, China wants Australia to not interfere in the South China Sea dispute at all. Clarke said the results of the US presidential election later can make a dramatic difference to Australia's role in the South China Sea conflict.
Dr Adam Lockyer, a security expert from Macquarie University, told news.com.au that the last thing Australia needs is to choose between China and the US. "Australia's position is that we do not want to choose," he said. "As soon as we were forced to make a choice, we lose. The principle of Australian foreign policy is 'Do not choose between the US and China'. Doing good things will affect our security or the economy. Or both, "he continued.(RIP:WWIII)
