Everybody Is Raped In Dubai

DUBAI - A young British woman holidaying in Dubai were charged with "sex outside of marriage" or zina after she complained to police after gang-raped by two British men.

If convicted, she could be imprisoned, deported, whipped or even undergo the maximum punishment, which is stoned to death.

In the last month, 25-year woman, whose identity is protected it comes to the police in Dubai that she had been raped by two British men in a hotel. But, the police arrested him on charges of "extra-martial sex" or sex outside marriage.

Families of the victims say the two actors had flown to England a few hours after the incident. Victims have the police briefly detained have been released on bail an attorney.

Her family said that she is still in need of money about 24 thousand pounds in legal fees in Dubai. "They have taken his passport when lawyers make bail," said a family friend of the victim, as quoted by the Telegraph, on Thursday (17/11/2016). "He's staying with a British family, but she was really scared," he said.

"He went into (the office) police as a victim of one of the toughest and worst trials were unimaginable, but he was treated as a criminal," said a family friend of the victim. Radha Stirling, director of victim advocacy groups criminalization Dubai based in the UK called the case the victim suffered "very disturbing".

"The police always fails to distinguish between consensual sexual relations and rape with violence," he told The Independent. "The victim went to them (the police) for justice, and finally actually prosecuted," Stirling criticism.

British Foreign Office has been providing support for victims. While the Government of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates have not commented on the case.
