TEHRAN - Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani called the United States (US) as a paranoid state. Larijani stated, it is evident from the latest immigration policies adopted by the US, who also targeting Iran.

Speaking in front of the Iranian parliament, Larijani said the United States was afraid of everything, even their own shadow. According to him, a large country would not make these kind of decisions in a very short time.

"A safe country would not take any hasty decisions. More importantly put the name of Iran (in the US entry ban) on the pretext of a terrorist act is just an old joke," said Larijani.

"It is clear, Iran has always stood against terrorism and several countries have also been joined by Iran," he added, as quoted by Fars News on Sunday (29/1).

He continued, Iran is a secure and independent state. Larijani also emphasized that Iran is very different to the US, because he thinks Iran will pave the way to develop international interaction.

"Iran supports the consistency of peace based on the values ​​of Islam and serious in the fight against terrorism," he added.
