Military-Style Student

FACE education we return tarnished by what happened to the three students of the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) who died after participating in the basic education of students of nature lovers (Mapala) campus in the area of Mount Lawu, Karangayar, Central Java. A few days ago, a student of the School of Sailing (STIP) Jakarta also died as a result of violence by senior.
Both cases at the beginning of the year equally excessive act of their elders on campus in order to instill the values of the community. The cases were not the first time this has happened in Indonesia. Cases were categorized as severe levels of bullying are often color the world of education in the country.
That part of the face of our education, especially at the college, which instill the values of their community by military means, but do not have a definite standard. Unlike the military education which has a certain size limit in providing basic education.
Irony, sometimes we often encounter students hate militaristic attitude but they also perform military forces in carrying out basic education or student orientation and introduction to the campus (ospek).
On the pretext of instilling community values, a junior who may be physically yet, or even not ready, "been" military-style. Shout, even strokes, full of emotions and revenge are common.
Is it only by military means implanting or provide doctrines and values of a community? Certainly not. The world of higher education is certainly more forward them in their intellectual understanding of doctrine or of value investment. There are still many ways other than military force to build up a character to someone. The condition is also a misnomer because the student is a group of intellectuals who actually use the ways of non-intellectual in providing basic education.
Doctrinal or value investment with a military style can be done, but with clear standards. Akmil style military education also must have limitations in doing doctrinal.
Likewise, those who want education to be NCO or enlisted, there must be measures so that the risk will occur can be measured. Admittedly, in Indonesia for business value investment style ya just TNI military who have certainly guide. The question is, why not use the services or cooperate with the military to do this?
After all, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is also working with the military to provide education and training to its employees. Even some large private companies are also cooperating with the military to build cohesiveness and discipline for its employees.
Not only the staff-level employees, employees who sit at managerial level also got a touch of military style. And the military had the right way to do this.
TNI will differentiate education and training curriculum for new employees or old, young and old, or managerial staff or in part. The result was quite good in building cohesiveness and discipline employees of a company. These methods seem to be also used by colleges in performing basic education.
Reflecting on the case UII or STIP, as well as previous cases, the government must make changes to the basic education system per unit of student activity (SMEs) or value investment system or community college. If it does not have a proper way and the victims continue to fall, the better the ways is prohibited.
Is not the violence of the senior to the junior will continue to happen if the system is put in place? After all, a junior would have a grudge against another junior in later years and will continue annually.
If this means you want to continue, at least can hold military college. Or if not, it would be better ways of violence in instilling the values of the community or campus eliminated. We certainly do not want to face higher education we continue digelayuti glum
