Sophisticated Weapons Russia Offers Philippines, US Claims Not Bothered

MANILA - Russia offers sophisticated weapons to the Philippines. Moscow even considering for Manila to hold joint military exercises in the South China Sea involving various warships.

United States (US), which is currently still listed as an ally of the Philippines admitted to not interfere with the lunge Moscow approaching Manila. The US claims the relationship with the Philippines will remain strong. Arnada warships Russian Pacific is conducting a five-day visit to the Philippines. The fleet led by Admiral Eduard Mikhailov.

Russia realizes that the Philippines experienced problems in the fight against terrorism and piracy. "We have experience in combating this (threat of terrorism)," said Mikhailov. "We will share knowledge on you about this issue, how to solve the problem of piracy and terrorism," he added.

Mikhailov also give a signal to China and Malaysia to join the Russian military exercises in the South China Sea in the next few years.

Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Igor Anatolyevich Khovaev also confirms bid Moscow supplying sophisticated weapons to the Philippines.
