Prosecute The People Of Papua To Jakarta Government Close Freeport

JAKARTA, Indonesia - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in recent times continues to conduct hearings with PT Freeport Indonesia. This time, the Ministry of Energy held a hearing with the Papuans from Amungme and Kamoro.

Two of the indigenous tribes who are directly affected by the mining activities of Freeport on Earth Paradise. They demanded that the government does not allow scope for mining giants from the United States (US) is to mine, and requested that Freeport be closed.

"We ask would that Freeport be closed. Because we have been sorry for what we provide to Freeport," said Marianus Maknaipeku, a representative Kamoro at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, in Jakarta, Wednesday (03/08/2017).

Meanwhile, Yohanis stated that Kamoro and Amungme is a victim of the dredge Freeport mine in Papua. He hoped the government could grant the wishes of the people of Papua so high-profile mining companies are closed and discontinued operations in the country.
