LONDON (REUTERS) - Car bombers against a congregation of the Finsbury Park mosque in north London after the Tarawih prayer threatened to kill all Muslims. The threat was shouted during the attack.

The attack occurred outside the mosque in the area of Seven Sisters Road, midnight or early morning local time (19/06/2017).

A congregation of about ten people came out of the mosque after the Tarawih prayer and was smashed with a white van by the perpetrator.

The perpetrator in the action also stabbed one person, before trying to escape. One person was killed and several others wounded.

The perpetrators have been arrested by police, but the identity and motive of the attack has not been revealed by the London Metropolitan Police. An eyewitness who wants to be identified as Abdulrahman, who is not his real name, was on the scene when the horrific attack took place.

"I managed to see the van driver. He wanted to run away and say, 'I want to kill all Muslims', "Abdulrahman said. "So he went back to the main road and I managed to get him, me and some other people managed to hold him until the police arrived, about 20 minutes until the police arrived," he continued, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

Abdulrahman claimed the perpetrators were also shouting; "Kill me". "I say; 'Tell me why you are driving and trying to kill an innocent person', "the witness said. The perpetrators who were beaten by the villagers did not answer Abdurahman's question. When the police car arrived, he rushed into the officer's car. "When he got into the van (police) he gestured, he laughed," Abdulrahman said.

Police have not concluded the perpetrators' actions as terrorist attacks, despite the terrible threat to the Muslim community being thrown.

British Prime Minister (PM) Theresa May described it as a terrible incident. "All my thoughts are on those who have been hurt, their loved ones and emergency services at the scene," he said.
