WWIII - North Korean government media (North Korea) again spit war rhetoric against the United States (US). The media reported that the attacks on Kim Jong- un's government would put the United States in shame. Rodong Sinmun, the North Korean government newspaper run by the Central Committee of the Labor Party published an article underestimating Washington's military power.
The article was in response to criticism by US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis over Pyongyang's nuclear program and government comments by Donald Trump who called US strategic patience out after North Korea tested intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) on July 4.
In his editorial, Kim Jong-un's regime media said that the US would be foolish if it braved attacking Pyongyang. "The army and people of the DPRK are fully prepared to oppose the military option chosen by the US," the editorial said.
"If a war breaks out in Korea because of an unforgivable US action, the American dynasty will be humiliating," the editorial continued.
The United States warned the media that in order to escape the worst disaster in history, it must behave well. Mattis had earlier warned that any nuclear strike by North Korea would trigger an effective and extraordinary response from the Pentagon.
As is known, two weeks ago, North Korea made a major breakthrough in the first intercontinental ballistic missile test. The test shocked experts and triggered global condemnation.
The North Korean government then said that the latest intercontinental ballistic missile test was a "gift" for "American assholes" on US Independence Day. Rodong Sinmun also dubbed Mattis a "war maniac". This nickname is actually the words of North Korean propaganda reported by state news agency, KNCA.
According to New York-based political analyst and Asian expert Sean King, the language used by Rodong Sinmun in his final war of words with the US is not surprising. "Rodong Sinmun may not always target individuals with names but pretty standard vitriol ," he said. According to him, the US should also not spark war rhetoric or at least reduce the rhetoric.
