PYONGYANG - North Korea's Foreign Ministry (North Korea) condemns new sanctions from the United States (US). Pyongyang regards unilateral sanctions as a "anachronistic" act by the United States as a world- hooligan by placing its national laws above international law.

North Korea also condemned the US travel ban to Pyongyang as Washington's "childish" policy. "The DPRK strongly condemns the so-called unilateral sanctions by the US, and all other countries in the world also need to seriously contemplate US actions that are outrageous and unlawful," the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK said in a statement published by KCNA. DPRK stands for the official name of North Korea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump signed a law called " Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act ". The law contains the latest economic sanctions package against North Korea, Iran and Russia. "This law sends a clear message to North Korea that the American people will not tolerate their dangerous and unstable behavior," Trump said when signing the law. The North, led by Kim Jong-un, condemned Washington's move they call a criminal act.

"US actions that are very fond of sanctions and brandishing sanctions to other sovereign nations are no better than hooligans that can not be permitted by international law," continued the Foreign Ministry, quoted on Saturday (5/8/2017). ).

Pyongyang reasoned that Washington was only afraid of the rapid progress of North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, which reached an irrefutable reality to have atomic bombs and hydrogen bombs, as well as intercontinental ballistic means to deliver them. Pyongyang explains that US sanctions will never be effective in North Korea.

"Sanctions campaign by the United States can be done in other countries, but never with the DPRK," added the Foreign Ministry of North Korea. The ministry advised Washington to focus on its national issue rather than impose sanctions without hope for the North.
