It's China's Position If US-North War Breaks

WW3 - Tensions on the Korean Peninsula sparked fears that a war will actually happen in the region. Related to that, a newspaper belonging to China reveals the position of the Bamboo Curtain country if North Korea and US war really happened.

Global Times in its editorial said if North Korea launched an offensive against the US then China should remain neutral. But if the US attacks first and tries to overthrow the North Korean government, China will stop them. According to the Global Times Beijing can not convince either Washington or Pyongyang to back down. Previously, China has called for both halves to calm down. This attitude shows a sense of Chinese frutation of North and US behavior that triggered tension on the Korean Peninsula.

"It is necessary to clarify its position to all sides and make them understand that when their actions harm the interests of China, China will respond firmly," said the newspaper, which does not represent government policy.

"China should also explain that if North Korea launches a missile that threatens US soil first and US retaliates, China will remain neutral," he added.

"If the US and South Korea attack and try to overthrow the North Korean regime and change the political pattern of the Korean peninsula, China will prevent them from doing so," the editorial said on Friday (11/08/2017).

China has long been worried that any conflict on the Korean peninsula, or the recurrence of the 1950-53 Korean war, could unleash an unstable wave of refugees to its northeast. Another concern is that the war ended with a united region allied to the United States. North Korea is a useful buffer country for China between them and US troops based in South Korea (South Korea), and also across the sea in Japan.

The Global Times said that China will reject any party wishing to change the status quo of the region in which Chinese interests are concerned.

"The Korean peninsula is a place of strategic importance all parties meet, and no one should try to be the absolute ruler of this region," said Global Times.
