WWIII - If North Korea fires a missile into Guam, it will take about 14 minutes to reach the island and a warning system will notify the public. So it is said by the Guam Security Office.

Guam security spokesman Jenna Gaminde said the residents would soon be alerted with 15 sirens coming from all danger warning systems located in lowland areas all over the island.

The hazard warning system is a system designed for all hazards, including tsunamis, earthquakes, and flash floods. This warning system is starting to be installed in 2014.

"Our office will be notified by the military and will use all forms of mass communication to deliver the message to the public," Gaminde said as quoted by Xinhua , Friday (08/11/2017).

Gaminde added residents should listen to local media - radio, print, television - for further instructions, if they hear sirens.

Meanwhile, the report said that the military on the island continues to maintain standard operations amid threats and no change in threat levels.

According to the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance (MDAA), a non-profit organization dedicated to generating public support for US missile defense systems, Guam is protected by a US missile defense system permanently deployed by the Department of Defense at Andersen Air Force Base. The defense system includes the anti-missile system of the High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Terminal and the AN / TPY-2 radar system.

In a statement on Thursday the North's military said that its plan to attack Guam with medium-sized missiles would be ready by mid-August. The North's military also said its implementation would depend on the decision of top leader Kim Jong-un.This was a response to US President Donald Trump's extraordinarily loud warning to the DPRK on Tuesday.

Trump said North Korea could not threaten more to the United States. They will be greeted with fire and anger that the world has never seen.
