Beijing Ready To Fight Anyone Trying To Separate Taiwan from China

Beijing will oppose anyone who tries to topintervene in China's reunification efforts with Taiwan. The statement of Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe on Sunday, June 2, 2019 indirectly bullied the United States, where the military was milling about in the Asian region.


"China will fight to the end whoever tries to separate Taiwan from China. There has never been an attempt to divide a successful China. Every intervention on Taiwan must fail. If anyone dares to separate Taiwan from China, the Chinese Armed Forces have no choice but to fight whatever it is. China must and will unite, "Wei said, in a speech at a summit at Shangri-La, Singapore.

The United States has no official relationship with Taiwan but has now become the strongest supporting country for Taiwan's independence, even becoming the main country selling weapons to Taiwan.

Earlier on Saturday, June 1, 2019, US Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan said that his party would no longer be clandestine in overcoming Beijing's stance in the Asian region.

Bilateral relations between China and the United States have been shrouded in tensions following the worsening trade war between the two countries, US support for Taiwan and Beijing's military presence in the South China Sea.

The South China Sea waters are still in dispute between China and Taiwan and a number of ASEAN countries, but at the same time the United States patrols the waters by reason of freedom of navigation.

Taiwan will hold a presidential election in January 2020 and Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen has repeatedly accused Beijing of trying to undermine Taiwan's democracy. Tsai vowed to defend Taiwan and freedom in the region.
