China Will Reply Cruelly US Rates

President of the United States (US) Donald Trump on Tuesday (06/11/2019) will maintain tariffs on Chinese products as part of his trading strategy.

"Rates are a great negotiating tool," Trump said.

While China stressed that it would ruthlessly retaliate if the US still maintained the tariff.

The phrase was issued after on Monday Trump threatened to add tariffs at USD300 billion to Chinese imports.

China, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman, Geng Shuang stated, if the US only wanted to increase trade friction, China would firmly respond and fight to the end.

"China does not want to fight, but we are not afraid of fighting," he said, quoted by Reuters on Wednesday (06/12/2019).

On May 10, Trump raised tariffs on USD200 billion of Chinese goods to 25%. Beijing retaliated with a rate increase on the revised list of US $ 60 billion in goods.

The rate was used by Washington to urge Beijing to overcome accusations of forced technology transfer and theft of US trade secrets.

Trump has repeatedly stated that he wants to negotiate with Xi Jinping at the summit in Osaka, Japan, at the end of June, but China has not confirmed that.

Shuang also said he was not interested in confirming Xi-Trump's meeting at the G20. He said the information would be released after it was available.

Meanwhile, investors worry that China will retaliate by including US companies in the blacklist or banning the export of rare earth metals to the United States, which are used in products such as memory chips, rechargeable batteries and cellphones.
