PRC 70th Anniversary, President Xi Jinping: No Power Can Stop China
Chinese President Xi Jinping, on Tuesday 1 October 2019, said in his speech that there is no power that can stop China's development.
It was said to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the PRC or the Chinese National Day under the Chinese Communist Party government.
"There is no power that can shake the foundations of this great nation," Xi said in a Chinese-language speech script, which was translated officially by state media, quoted from CNBC, Tuesday (10/10/2019).
"There is no power that can stop the Chinese people and the Chinese people from moving forward," he continued.
Xi also stressed that China will pursue peaceful development.
"Long live the great Chinese Communist Party. And the long life of the Chinese People!" the Chinese president ended his speech, which lasted less than 10 minutes.

President Xi Jinping also said that the central government would "maintain the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao," he said when the special autonomy region of the former British colony was still rocked by a series of routine pro-democracy demonstrations for more than three months.
"Going forward, we must remain committed to a strategy of peaceful reunification, in the principle of 'One Country, Two Systems," Xi said.
He added that China would "promote peace-building cross-strait relations, unite all countries and continue to strive to advance the full unification of our country."
Cross-strait relations or cross-strait relations, is the definition of relations between China and Taiwan - which declares itself as a country with a separate government from Beijing.
Separately, during a speech at the reception on Monday 30 September evening, Xi again emphasized the need for Chinese unity under the Communist Party to overcome challenges.
"Unity is iron and steel; unity is a source of strength," Xi said, according to an English translation transcript from the Foreign Ministry.
The Chinese leader reaffirmed the government's position in "One Country, Two Systems" in Hong Kong and Macau, and the principle of "One-China" in Taiwan.
Xi said, "The complete reunification of the homeland is an inevitable trend; it is the greater national interest and what all Chinese want. There is no one and no power can stop it!"
Taipei is expected to react strongly to President Xi Jinping's comments.
President Xi became the leader of China in 2012, and removed last year's term of office - making him president of China for life.
Military Parade in Beijing

Around 15,000 armed forces personnel are expected to take part in the military parade, which will also display more than 160 aircraft and 580 defense equipment.
Some of the key technologies among the '100 percent domestically made' weapons are the drones - in which Beijing claims to be the world's best drone manufacturer - to the latest missile system.
Maj. Gen. Tan Min, deputy executive director of the Joint Military Parade Command Office and deputy chief of staff of the Central People's Liberation Army (PLA) Command, said at a press conference this week that all weapons would be on display.
All this highlights the country's ability to innovate in defense research and development.
